Xabia's Bikes, Javea Wheelchair support

Need help with your wheelchair?

I would not hesitate in recommending Xabia’s Bikes for any problems with bicycles or wheelchairs, trikes or motorized accessible equipment. The staff are very professional and will try to help with anything. We have visited Xabia’s bike shop several times while we have been living in Javea.

Accessibility

Their disability ramp is on the left hand side as you enter the shop. It is quite narrow and would be a challenge for larger wheelchairs. The disabled ramp can be cluttered sometimes but the staff are very helpful and will jump to move any obstructions.

Wheelchair Puncture

We visited for the first time with regular wheelchair puncture and it was given priority and fixed very quickly. Explaining issues in Spanish can be a challenge but we got by and for more complicated disability issues, there was someone who spoke English. With sign language and some help from google, we got by.

Handcycle adjustment

Our second visit, involved adjusting our disability hand-cycle. Rob had had it fitted in the UK but it wasn’t quite right and so we had been sent a longer chain. Once again, they fitted it quickly and we picked it up the next day. Also, we recommended it to a friend of ours visiting Javea who hand cycles professionally. We know that they used them during their trip and also hired bikes for able-bodies travellers too.
