Casa Song Restaurant, Javea for the wheelchair user. How Accessible is it?

wheelchair access casa song javea

How accessible is Casa Song Restaurant Javesa for a wheelchair user?  How accessible is the restaurant?

Casa Song is a family-owned restaurant in Javea Costa Blanca. It is a real main-stay of Javea and although it is off the main drag, it is well worth a visit.

They have all of the favourites for a Chinese restaurant and a lot to choose from.  You can eat in or takeaway.  Their food is delicious and the service is excellent. But how accessible is this restaurant for wheelchair users?

Disabled parking for Casa Song Restaurant, Javea

Parking for Casa Song Restaurant for wheelchair users is the main concern for this restaurant.  There is road parking outside but there is no disabled space and we all know, it can be difficult to park next to a kerb for wheelchair users.  There is a variety of parking options in Javea for wheelchair users but this area is lacking in that department. Please do not be put off by the lack of parking for disabled users, however.

The suggested space for this restaurant is a short walk away, across the main road outside the Sabadell Bank. Here is the link for directions from the space to the restaurant.

Directions from disabled parking space to Casa Song

The layout and tables of the Restaurant are excellent for Wheelchair Users

The access for wheelchair users at Casa Song Restaurant Javea is good.  The Restaurant has a terrace to the front and a Large restaurant inside.  The terrace is not very spacious but my husband Rob is a full-time wheelchair user and he can access both the terrace and inside the restaurant easily. I believe that the larger wheelchairs may struggle on the terrace but will find ample space inside in the main restaurant.

Don´t get too excited about the terrace as the main road is noisy and it is not the prettiest of restaurants.

In the main restaurant, the tables are well spaced and Rob can easily get under the square tables making eating a pleasure.

Although we love going to this restaurant it does lack atmosphere. This restaurant is all about good food at a good price.  Sometimes during busy times, wheelchair users can find restaurants very busy and it can be frustrating. If you want a break from all that and want a quiet evening where space is plentiful then come to Casa Song, Javea or even come and get a takeaway.

Access to Casa Song Restaurant Javea and Disabled Toilet

Access to Casa Song, Javea for wheelchair users is excellent. They have a wide ramped entrance and spacious walkways within the restaurant allowing for easy movement for all sizes of wheelchairs.

The toilet at Casa Song is fully accessible for wheelchair users and always spotlessly clean.

Casa Song Restaurant Javea for all Travellers

Casa Song, Javea is one of those restaurants where the food is delicious, good value and popular but the venue is simple and relaxed.  I imagine a time on a holiday when people want to stay at home and have a takeaway or do not want the noise and boisterousness of the main tourist areas.

Casa song is perfect for wheelchair users and all travellers who want a simple, yet delicious Chinese/Thai meal with no thrills.

Personal notes for Casa Song Restaurant, Javea

Casa Song Restaurant Javea for the wheelchair user is second to none. The family are friendly and efficient. The food is good and access for wheelchair users is easy.

It is not a pretty restaurant but a well-known mainstay for locals. I personally feel that some of the dishes, especially the curries are more Thai than Chinese and their green Thai curry is delicious!

I would not go to Casa Song for a special event but you cannot beat the quality of the food and service and the accessibility for wheelchair users.

So is casa Song Restaurant Javea accessible for wheelchair users?  The answer is yes, yes, yes!

How Wheelchair Accessible is Safranera Cafeteria Javea?

Safranera Cafeteria Javea disabled access

How accessible is Safranera cafeteria Javea?

Safranera Cafetiera Javea is very accessible with no steps and a flat level throughout. However, wheelchair access could be restricted during busy times as the cafeteria is a very small establishment. There are a small number of tables inside the restaurant and some outside on the pavement. This can be overlooked however as this cafeteria is all about the Venezualan food, which is incredible.

Wheelchair accessible parking near Safranera Cafeteria Javea.

It is not too difficult to find a designated disabled space not far from Safranera Cafeteria Javea, however, it is located on a very busy road in Javea and therefore in peak season there you may struggle. Most locals do not park in the designated blue bays and for a short flat walk, I am sure that you will find one in the local streets.

Wheelchair accessible toilet in Safranera Cafeteria.

The disabled toilet in Safranera Cafeteria is small. It is a little more spacious than usual and they have a bar support for those that need it. However, due to the sheer size of this tiny restaurant, the toilet also reflects this lack of space.

Why you should come to visit Safranera Cafeteria?

Food, Food, Food. We can forgive the size of this restaurant because of the Venezuelan food. It is a must to try and as first-timers, the chef was very happy to give us a tapas-style meal so that we could try numerous dishes. The passion and love put into this food are apparent. Wonderful!

In conclusion, can I recommend Safranera Cafeteria with wheelchair accessibility in mind?

This small family-run restaurant is a must-visit for anyone wanting something a little different in Javea. It has all of the elements of wheelchair access however it is a small restaurant so movement is always going to be limited for wheelchair users. Please visit though. A special family who serve food with love.

How Accessible is Restaurante Portitxol, Javea for Wheelchair Users?

How Accessible is Restaurante Portitxol, Javea for wheelchair users?

Restaurante Portitxol Javea for the wheelchair user. On first seeing the outside of Restaurante Portitxol, disabled access doesn’t spring to mind. At first glance, you could rule out this restaurant and that would be a mistake. The 6 steps at the entrance of the restaurant are not disabled-friendly but a small glance up the side street will afford you the secret entrance to this restaurant. Santa Coqueta Taverna is attached to the Restaurante Portitxol and allows very good disabled access for wheelchair users.

Level Access to Restaurante Portitxol, Javea

Once into the restaurant through the level entrance of the Santa Coqueta Taverna, good wheelchair access continues through this hidden restaurant. There are a variety of seating areas with some fixed seating and other free chairs. For a wheelchair user, the tables are not the best as the pedestals can stop some wheelchair users from getting close enough to the table but my husband managed. The tables are spread out and there is space to move around easily for wheelchair users. Some of the larger wheelchairs may find it a squeeze at busy times.

Parking for Restaurante Portitxol, Javea

Disabled parking near Restaurante Portitxol for wheelchair users is poor. Being located in the old town, there are challenges for wheelchair users but depending upon how adventurous you are, it is possible to get to. My husband is an independent wheelchair user and he managed. But I cannot comment on access for all disabilities and the distance to a parking space is dependent on when you visit and how busy the town is generally. Most locals do not park in disabled access parking bays but there are fewer in the town of Javea.

The nearest disabled parking space is in Avinguda D’Alacant. However, the climb from this space is very steep so if this climb is too great for you then you can park in other bays further away but with less of a climb.

Disabled toilets at Restaurante Portitxol, Javea

For wheelchair users visiting Restaurante Portitxol, the disabled toilets are very good. As per many restaurants in Javea unfortunately the disabled toilet is in the ladies but as there is only one of each, it isn’t a problem. As with every aspect of Restaurante Portitxol, it is spotlessly clean.

Why would you visit Restaurante Portitxol, Javea as a wheelchair user?

Why may you want to visit Restaurante Portitxol?  The short answer is, it’s so worth it! This is a hidden gem in a challenging location for wheelchair users but it is a must if you are visiting Javea. It is a truly special space, and the current owners have created this truly magical space in the centre of the town.  The food is traditionally Spanish. The day that we visited, they had a menu del dia (3/5 courses) for €14.50. This included two tapas starters before we even ordered our food! They also have an A la Carte menu.

The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has some quirky features such as a door of doors. It is such a shame that access to the roof terrace is not possible for wheelchair users as I am told that it is beautiful.

In conclusion, visiting Restaurante Portitxol, Javea for the wheelchair user.

I can highly recommend Restaurante Portitxol for those wheelchair users who want a real taste of Spain in a stylish, relaxed restaurant. If you’re adventurous and enjoy going to special, not run of the mill places, then Restaurante Portitxol is definitely for you. It is certainly worth the hill that you need to go up to get there. We will undoubtedly be returning and it may become our new place to go. The pricing is also so competitive s0 please check it out if you visit Javea.

Restaurante Portitxol is located on the corner of Avinguda D’Alacant and Calle Rda. Norte.

TASCA PORT RESTAURANT JAVEA – ACCESS FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS

There is really good wheelchair access at Tasca Port Restaurant Javea. There is a terrace outside and a ramped entrance to the seating inside. Due to covid restrictions, the tables are spaced apart creating easy movement for independent wheelchair users. The tables have good access beneath so Rob in his wheelchair can get close to the table. I am not sure if there is perfect accessibility for the larger wheelchairs as it is a small restaurant. On the terrace, there would be no problems for different wheelchairs.

DISABLED PARKING FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS VISITING TASCA PORT RESTAURANT, JAVEA.

When sharing wheelchair access at Tasca Port restaurant Javea, access to a parking space for some is vital. For those needing this, should not be disappointed.  The location of Tasco Port means that there is not a car park. However, there are several designated disabled parking spaces nearby. We have found that even in the height of summer, we can usually find a disabled space available. Locals do not park in them and are very respectful of the needs of others.

TASCA PORT RESTAURANT JAVEA – ACCESS TO A DISABLED TOILET

When looking for wheelchair access at Tasca Port Restaurant, Javea it is important to check for an accessible toilet and the access to this toilet. Tasco Port restaurant has an excellent accessible toilet and access to it is very easy. I estimate that a larger electric wheelchair will also be able to access this toilet.

WHERE WILL YOU FIND TASCA PORT RESTAURANT JAVEA?

map of tasca port Javea disability review

Tasca Port Javea can be found just behind the Mirimar hotel in a small row of restaurants. Wheelchair access for Tasca Port is easy as the port area that it is in is completely flat and wheeling to the seafront after lunch or dinner would be easy.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS AT TASCA PORT RESTAURANT JAVEA- CONCLUSION

Concluding this review of wheelchair access at Tasca Port Restaurant in Javea, I have to say that I cannot recommend it enough.
There are so many restaurants in the port area who haven’t thought about wheelchair access but those at Taca Port have. If you want the ease of access and the feeling that you have visited a Spanish restaurant, then Tasca Port is for you.

Carnaval Restaurant and Bar, Javea – How Wheelchair Accessible is it?

Carnaval El Arenal wheelchair access

The wheelchair accessibility at Carnaval restaurant and bar, Javea is superb. The owners seemed to have considered many needs and I would include the ability for larger electric wheelchair users to dine here as well.

Disabled parking for Carnaval, Javea

Carnaval is located on El Arenal beach promenade. Accessible parking spaces in this area are usually found behind the main restaurant area in Avenida del Mediterrnean.  There are several disabled spaces and we often find that they are still free, even in the height of the peak season. People are very considerate here. If you are using a taxi, there is a rank, again behind the promenade. The promenade is wide and flat and I’m told by my husband Rob that it is a great surface for wheelchairs.

The layout and tables of the restaurant is OK for wheelchair  users.

The reason I say it is ok is because the layout is spacious and there are wide aisles for wheelchair accessible movement between tables and around the Carnaval. I do recall that even pre-covid, this was still the case. However, there are tables with pedestals which can make it difficult for some wheelchairs users to get really close to the tables for eating. Also fixed seating is great for non-disabled guests but a challenge for those with restricted movement.

Access to Carnaval Restaurant and Bar and disabled toilet

The access to the Carnaval for wheelchair users is fantastic. A small ramp has been added at the front and there is space around it for easy movement once inside.

Access to the disabled toilet is superb. You move through a really wide corridor to gain access to the larger ladies toilet which is also the disabled toilet. Rob doesn’t love going to the ladies but accessing  toilet that he can use, takes precedence over any embarrassment. Its no ideal but it won’t stop us going to these restaurants. The toilet itself is not the largest that we have been to. There is a support bar on the wall but the gap between the end of the toilet and the wall in front is vert short. Rob can transfer if required but the layout of this toilet makes transference tricky. Larger-wheelchair users may also struggle with this layout. Take a look at the images as they may help you.

What has Carnaval got to offer all travellers?

Carnaval is a great restaurant and bar. It has a lovely vibe and a bohemian buzz.  The food leans towards international cuisine with a varied menu specializing in  sushi. We use this restaurant for main meals either for lunch or dinner.  Its not the type of place you go for sandwiches or toasties.

Heres the link to their own website

Personal Notes

Carnaval is a welcoming, funky restaurant to visit. For full time wheelchair users, it has ease of access, ease of movement around the restaurant and to the disabled toilet. The accessible toilet is not the best I have seen but also not the worse. It is situated in front of a great play park for children. At a push, you could sit at the front of Carnival and have a small beer whilst the kids play on the playground. Didn’t tell you to do this though!

Carnaval is located on the El Arenal Beach promenade in Javea, Costa Blanca  in Spain.

La Boheme (Bohemians) Restaurant Javea. How Wheelchair Accessible is it?

La boheme javea terrace wheelchair

The question of how wheelchair accessible La Boheme Restaurant  in Javea is, must be responded with a mixed response reluctantly.

The Layout of La Boheme (Bohemians) Restaurant, El Arenal, Javea – wheelchair access.

The layout of La Boheme is excellent for wheelchairs with nice wide route-ways between tables. There is a variety of seating. However, there is a prominence of pedestal tables which can make it difficult for some wheelchair users to get close to the table.

Disabled parking for La Boheme Restaurant

La Boheme can be found on the promenade at El Arenal Beach and there are a variety of disabled parking spaces behind the El Arenal Beach area. You will usually find one which is free even in high season. You can walk or drive closer to the promenade at the front down a variety of side roads and walkways. It is a really flat wide area with plenty of space.

What has the Bohemians Restaurant got to offer, the disabled traveller?

La Boheme does have the bohemian vibe; with lovely decorations and great simple touches. Being so close to the lovely beach at El Arenal, makes it a great spot for people watching. It has a distinct air of quality which makes it our must go to venue for birthdays or special evenings out. They offer a fixed lunch and evening set menus (evening currently being 19 Euros for 3 courses). The quality of food is excellent.

Is La Boheme (Bohemians) Restaurant Accessible for wheelchair users?

The first negative regarding La Boheme Restaurant is the small step across the front of the restaurant. You could go around to the back of the restaurant for completely step-free access but it is a long way round. My Husband Rob is a full time wheelchair user and he can manage the step at the front with help from myself. We wouldn’t usually spend our time at a venue where there is a step. However, La Boheme’s other assets makes it one of our favourites.

Is there a disabled access toilet at La Boheme?

The disabled toilet at La Boheme (Bohemians) Restaurant, Javea is located at the rear of the restaurant. It is again labelled ladies and access to it is narrow. Again an average size wheelchair would get through the swing doors but a larger electric chair may not.

Would I recommend La Boheme (Bohemians) Restaurant Javea to the disabled traveller?

The quality of the food, the wonderful ambiance, make it a lovely place to visit. However, the step and the narrow entrance to the toilet could prove difficult for some.

Exotic Tiki Restaurant and Bar Javea. How Wheelchair Accessible is it?

exotic tiki bar Javea accessible Javea

Exotic Tiki Bar and Restaurant, Javea has excellent wheelchair accessibility. It is all on one level and easily accessible for wheelchair users.

How Wheelchair accessible is Exotic Tiki Restaurant and Bar, El Arenal, Javea.

The layout has a variety of seating.  The chairs at the very front of the terrace and the booth are tricky to negotiate for wheelchairs as they are fixed and very low in some cases. However, there are other tables towards the rear and on the side terrace which are wheelchair accessible.

Disabled parking for Exotic Tiki bar and Restaurant, Javea

There are a variety of disabled parking spaces behind the El Arenal Beach area and you will usually find one which is free. You can walk or drive through to the promenade at the front down a variety of side roads and walkways.

So what has  Exotic got to offer?

Having excellent wheelchair accessible and being so close to the lovely beach at El Arenal, makes it a great spot for people watching. We usually sit a little further back on the terrace and have lunch. We like the rear of this bar as it has a pool table and it really spacious so movement around is easy. They also play cool music and have a chilled vibe. The menu is varied from sandwiches to full meals.

Access at Exotic Tiki bar and Restaurant

When looking at how wheelchair accessible Exotic Tiki Bar and restaurant Javea is, I can say the following: It has excellent access from the front or back. There are no steps and the spaciousness of this restaurant makes it great for the larger wheelchairs.

Is there a disabled access toilet at Exotic Tiki bar and Restaurant, Javea?

The disabled toilet at Exotic Tiki bar and Restaurant, Javea is located at the rear of the restaurant. It is  labelled as ladies but it is huge and also spotless. My only criticism is that there is no grab safety bar.

Would I recommend Exotic to the disabled traveller?

Yes absolutely, the staff are very friendly, the food good; the terrace is spacious, the toilet huge and the vibe chilled. I also like to support smaller businesses on El Arenal as there are some larger conglomerates operating there. You may find that some small businesses are closed in the low season due to less demand.

Geographic Restaurant and Bar, Javea. How wheelchair accessible is it?

Geographic front accessible javea

Wheelchair access at Geographic Restaurant and Bar, El Arenal, Javea.

When asking how wheelchair accessible is Geographic Bar and Restaurant Javea, the answer would be positive but mixed. There are several areas of seating areas at Geographic Bar and Restaurant.

Wheelchair Access inside the Geographic Restaurant and Bar

Inside the restaurant itself, it is wheelchair accessible but the tables at the front where the lovely view of the sea is, are packed into this area so you may get a feeling of being penned in. In the current climate of Covid, there is plenty of space between tables.

There is more spacious seating at the rear of the restaurant where the small cafe counter is, selling cakes and other treats. This area also has an open fire in the winter months. A real treat at Christmas time.

Accessible Terrace outside

The terrace outside is between Geographic and the bar next door. This terrace stretches around the back of Geographic as well and is level all the way around.

Disabled parking for Geographic Restaurant, Javea

There are a variety of disabled parking spaces behind the El Arenal Beach area and you will usually find one which is free.

Javea Av Del Med disabled parking space free in height of summer

So what has Geographic got to offer the  disabled traveller?

Being mainly wheelchair accessible and so close to the lovely beach at El Arenal, then it has a lot to offer. We usually sit inside and have a breakfast or dinner.

TV screens show sport

There are MANY television screens at Geographic showing sport, including premiership and international football. It doesn’t have the feel of a sports bar and you can enjoy a meal or drink in peace. However, popular games may attract larger crowds and make it more difficult to move around the bar.

Is Geographic Restaurant  Accessible for wheelchair users?

Geographic is all on one level. The disabled access entrance is at the side of the restaurant. There is an approximately a one inch lip at this entrance which could be challenging for some. A large electric wheelchair, could get around but you may have to ask others to move for you. We tend to towards the rear where it is a little more spacious.

Is there a disabled toilet at Geographic Bar and Restaurant, Javea?

The disabled toilet at Geographic is located at the rear of the restaurant, through the left of the two doors and labelled ladies I’m afraid. It is spacious, however.

Would I recommend Geographic to the disabled traveller?

We enjoy going to Geographic. The food and staff are very good and we like the pub feel that geographic has. We highly recommend the English breakfast. It is particularly nice in the cooler months with the open fire and cosy feel.

La Fontana Restaurant and Bar Javea. How wheelchair accessible is it?

doors closed la fontana javea disabled access

When asking how wheelchair accessible La Fontana bar and Restaurant is, the answer has to be yes absolutely.  And to add to this excellent accessibility, the staff are friendly and work hard to create an atmosphere that is always buzzy and fun.

Wheelchair access at La Fontana Restaurant, El Arenal, Javea.

There are several areas of seating at La Fontana. All areas are wheelchair accessible.  The first being the terrace outside which has a mixture of seating tables and barstools around barrels.

The second is inside the restaurant itself. It is wheelchair accessible but the tables are packed into this area so you may get a feeling of being penned in. Sometimes the width for a wheelchair to get through isn’t there and you end up having to ask people to move if you need to toilet or to leave. Personally, Rob would rather not sit where this is the case. In the current climate of Covid, there is plenty of space between tables.

Disabled parking for La Fontana Restaurant, Javea

There is a disabled parking space right outside the restaurant by the side terrace. It seems to be a popular parling space as it leads onto the promenade at El Arenal Beach so we have not always been successful in attaining this space. There are a variety of disabled parking spaces behind the El Arenal Beach area and you will usually find one which is free.

So what has La Fontana got to Offer?

Being fully wheelchair accessible and so close to the lovely beach at El Arenal, then it has a lot to offer. We usually sit on the side terrace which provides easy access to the disabled toilet.

Unusual drinks at La Fontana Restaurant and Bar.

If you are a spirit drinker then La Fontana is for you. They have many unusual spirits and also sell them in their on-site shop. They also sell lovely condiments and other specialist food items. Great for an unusual holiday gift!

So how wheelchair accessible is La Fontana Bar and Restaurant, Javea?

La Fontana is fully accessible for wheelchairs throughout. It is all on one level and entrances are flat. There would be space for an electric wheelchair.

Is there a disabled access toilet at La Fontana?

The disabled toilet at La Fontana Restaurant Javea is unique in that you will find it in the Gents toilet area. No, you don’t have to wheel passed men at urinals but the doorway is next to the gents’ toilet.  The doorway to the disabled toilet is not huge but Rob fitted through easily in his manual wheelchair.

Would I recommend La Fontana to the disabled traveller?

In Conclusion, we love going to La Fontana Restaurant Javea.  The staff and great, the drinks are flowing and food is excellent. The thin crispy pizzas are a must or any of the tapas as well. Go around the side terrace, you will see the bar there and be able to see the variety of spirits on offer. I believe that the bar manager would accommodate any drink request. A real favourite of ours and the locals alike.

Salt Restaurant and Bar, Javea. How Wheelchair Accessible is it?

SALT is a restaurant in the premier location in Javea but how wheelchair accessible is SALT Restaurant and bar?

Wheelchair access at SALT Restaurant and bar, Javea

There are two areas of seating at SALT. The first being the terrace outside. The second is inside the restaurant itself. The terrace outside has wonderful sweeping views over the El Arenal beach and beyond. I took a photograph from here on my first visit and it still remains the most impressive view of Javea that I share.

Disabled parking for SALT Restaurant and Bar, Javea

There is no designated accessible parking space for SALT restaurant and bar. Access to it can only be achieved by wheeling up a steep hill to reach the entrance on Ave. De Ultramar. You can drive up the hill and you may find a place to park nearby but in high season this may not be possible. You ca park in several bay behind El Arenal which are designated. But then you will need to tackle the steep hill up to Ave. De ultramar. It is not easy to access in this regard.

What has SALT Bar and Restaurant, Javea got to offer the disabled traveller?

The simple answer to this is the amazing view. You can sit above those on the beach and take in the sights and sounds of El Arenal. It has a view that cannot be beaten in Javea.

Is SALT bar and Restaurant Accessible for wheelchair users?

Once inside, the owners have taken every measure to make SALT a really accessible place to eat. The access to the pavement outside SALT is tricky as there is no dropped kerb immediately opposite the entrance and the pavement is narrow. Once on the pavement, there is ramped a entrance and then fully accessible with step free acess to the terrace and to the toilet.   The Excellent accessible toilet is alongside the other toilets and plenty large enough for most wheelchairs including larger electric ones.

In conclusion, How accessible is SALT bar and Restaurant Javea?

SALT has good wheelchair accessibility and we will visit SALT when friends come to visit or maybe not.  With all of its wonderful views, the food, staff and ambience is not special enough to tempt us back. There are so many more restaurants in Javea which have excellent  accessibility and wonderful staff, who really make you feel welcome every time we visit.
